Mount Pleasant, SC is a Great Place to Call Home
I try not to get caught up in the negative clamor over how much Mount Pleasant has grown. I will not complain because with that growth has come wonderful developments and opportunities that continue to make the area more wonderful each day! I suppose my glass is usually half full and with the topic of the town of Mount Pleasant, my cup is most definitely full. Full of appreciation for the sunshine, waterways, beaches, parks, restaurants and kind people. Simply put, Mount Pleasant is a gem and let me bring some attention to a few newsy updates for our area.

Kayaking throughout the Seasons
Sometimes when you are in the daily grind, you forget to notice the beauty that surrounds you. Whether you enjoy looking for fish and other sea wildlife, naming native birds or simply soaking up some sunshine, one of the best vantage points to capture Mount Pleasant’s beauty is by kayak. The fresh air from sitting just on top of the local creeks and rivers is a relaxing activity for a variety of different interests. Connecting Great Places
Mount Pleasant, along with most of the Charleston area, has wonderful parks and recreational activities to enjoy the outdoors. Imagine a system that connects easily from one park to the next. West Ashely has the well-loved and highly frequented Greenway that encourages outdoor exercise in a safe way that connects many neighborhoods in the James Island, Brynes Downs, Avondale and West Ashley communities. Mount Pleasant has great news to share about a similar plan called the Mount Pleasant Way Project. The conceptual plans include using the town’s already existing parks, neighborhoods and trails by connecting them with safe on and off-road paths. The project will span from Scanlonville at the foot of the Ravenel Bridge all the way to the north part of Mt. Pleasant and Hwy 41!
